<p>Die saisonale Obst- und Gemüseauswahl fällt um diese Jahreszeit ja eher mau aus und es dauert noch eine ganze Weile, bis man auf den Wochenmarktständen wieder aus dem Vollen schöpfen kann. Aber eine besonders hübsche und aromatische Zitrusfrucht feiert momentan Hochsaison: die Blutorange! Und so habe ich letzte Woche auf dem kleinen Wochenmarkt meines Vertrauens so dermaßen leckere Halbblutorangen ergattert, dass ich umgehend etwas damit backen musste. Geworden ist es dieser feine Polenta Orangen Kuchen mit einer süßen Mandelkruste. </p>

<p>Natürlich funktioniert der Kuchen auch mit normalen Orangen, falls ihr gerade keine Halbblutorangen bekommt. Die Polenta (Italienisch für Maisgries) im Teig ersetzt komplett das Mehl (weshalb der Kuchen auch glutenfrei ist) und sorgt für die schöne gelbe Farbe des Kuchens. Für die extra saftige Konsistenz wird der Kuchen direkt nach dem Backen zusätzlich mit frisch gepresstem Orangensaft getränkt.  </p>

<p>Gekrönt wird das Ganze von einer süßen Mandelkruste, die im Backofen schön knusprig karamellisiert. Falls ihr noch nie mit Polenta gebacken habt, empfehle ich euch wärmstens, es mal auszuprobieren – der Kuchen wird durch den Maisgries schön fluffig und saftig zugleich! </p>

Die Eier nacheinander unterrühren. Polenta, gemahlene Mandeln und Backpulver vermischen und ebenfalls zügig unterrühren. Den Teig in eine gefettete Springform mit 20cm Ø geben und glatt streichen. Die Orangenfilets darauf verteilen und leicht festdrücken. </span></div></li><li id="wprm-recipe-7792-step-0-2" class="wprm-recipe-instruction" style="list-style-type: decimal;"><div class="wprm-recipe-instruction-text" style="margin-bottom: 5px;"><span style="display: block;">Die Mandelblätten mit 2 EL Zucker vermischen und über den Teig streuen. </span></div></li><li id="wprm-recipe-7792-step-0-3" class="wprm-recipe-instruction" style="list-style-type: decimal;"><div class="wprm-recipe-instruction-text" style="margin-bottom: 5px;"><span style="display: block;">Den Kuchen im vorgeheizten Backofen auf der mittleren Schiene ca. 30 Minuten goldbraun backen. Die zweite Orange auspressen und den noch heißen Kuchen mit dem Orangensaft tränken.
